In the News: Public finds fault with Rahm's TV ad

Mayor Rahm Emanuel's post-strike TV commercial, which has been getting lots of airplay and is said to have cost around $1 million, seems not to match up with reality, says Chicago Now blogger Barb Moreno.

In a letter to the editor, Don Rose writes: "It’s obvious why Mayor Rahm Emanuel is airing boastful commercials that you correctly term “a poke in the eye” of the Chicago Teachers Union. He is trying to rehabilitate himself with the public that overwhelmingly supported the striking union — while a mere 19 percent thought he was handling the situation properly." (Sun-Times)

What was up with CEO of Chicago Public Schools Jean-Claude Brizard during the teachers' strike? He says he was driving from school to school talking to striking teachers. "I spent a week doing that," he told The Huffington Post in his first lengthy interview since the strike ended on Sept. 18.
