Jim O’Connor, founding school leader of KIPP Ascend Charter on the West Side, has been named the new executive director of student services for Elgin School District U46. April Goble, the founding school leader of KIPP LEAD in Gary, Ind., who has trained and selected principals for KIPP’s school leader program, will become executive director of KIPP for the Chicago metro area and will oversee the expansion of KIPP in Chicago. Kate Mazurek will continue as principal of KIPP Ascend.
