Money for schools

DonorsChoose, an online marketplace where teachers can make pitches to individuals to donate the resources they need, was recently named by Amazon.com as one of the 10 most innovative charities in the country. The honor comes with a challenge: The organization must compete against nine other groups for a matching grant worth up to $1 million for contributions made between July 19 and Sept. 30.
