Facing History and Ourselves invites you to an interactive multimedia workshop exploring The Aftermath Project, an online resource that features photojournalists who document the challenges of rebuilding communities after conflict. As project founder Sara Terry explains, "War is only half the story." Through this resource, teachers will explore the aftermath of war and violence, in places that are redefining what it means to be human and live again, to rebuild civil society, and to recover from trauma. This workshop will provide educators with opportunities to grapple with the complex ways individuals and communities reckon with mass violence and confront painful legacies post-conflict in order to seek justice and build more stable, peaceful societies.
