Participate in two days of face- to-face professional learning. This course prepares you to begin using the Great Books Foundation's Shared Inquiry™ method of learning through reading and discussion with students at all levels. Learn questioning strategies that keep discussions lively and focused and improve students' reading, critical-thinking, writing, and oral communication skills. Practice writing interpretive questions and using follow-up questions to involve students of all ages and proficiency levels. See how interpretive activities support student learning and meet state and district standards. Attendance is required for both days of the course. Those who complete the full course are eligible for a discounted classroom set of Starting Off Strong, which features mini-lessons to introduce the elements of Shared Inquiry to your students. Continuing education credit is available.
