In this immersive, year-long Institute, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago serves as a laboratory and a source of inspiration for your teaching and your students’ learning. Inquire into works of contemporary art through dialogue and creative research. And collaborate with other teachers and artists to design actions and create curriculum that will inspire your students. The Institute begins with a summer intensive on July 30 to August 4. You will spend the week at the MCA immersed in artist- and teacher-led discussions, hands-on studio projects, and curriculum development, using the museum’s galleries and other creative spaces in the city as your classroom. Additional components during the school year include:
• Artist-led tours of the MCA for your students. Free busing provided for CPS schools.
• Follow-up workshops and reflection sessions.
CPS teachers of all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply; a few slots will be made available to non-CPS teachers.
