Environmental Risks Near Burr Elementary Cited
By: Alexander Russo / December 08, 2008
USA Today has a big story out today about environmental risks near schools that includes a school by school list and map (here). Click on the map and it will tell you that Burr Elementary and Anixter School are directly affected (see at bottom).

Air Quality is Bad for Many Chicago Schools
It's not just Burr and Anixter. If you'll click around some more, you'll see that air quality is bad for a lot of schools in the area. For example, Sojourner Truth School, where students from Skinner Elementary are temporarily housed, also ranks among the worst schools. According to the map, LaSalle, Lincoln Elementary, Catherine Cook School, St. James Lutheran, Lincoln Park High School and Walter Payton all rank in the bottom 5 percent for air quality.
