Financial Aid Workshops
As part of a national initiative to increase financial aid awareness, the U.S. Department of Education in collaboration with the City Colleges of Chicago invites your organization to participate in Financial Aid Train-the-Trainer sessions in Chicago, May. This training supports organizations that help, or want to help students plan, prepare and pay for their postsecondary educations. We encourage faith-based/community-based organizations, college readiness organizations, as well as parent, advocacy, and government agencies to attend.
The three upcoming sessions include a Financial Aid Roundtable aimed at providing our latest tools and resources, as well as an opportunity for organizational leaders to discuss their best practices for building financial aid awareness throughout the Chicagoland area. The two other sessions will each provide a financial aid Train-the-Trainer presentation followed by a walkthrough of the federal application known as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The idea is to train organizational representatives so that they can provide that same information to their members, thus having a multiplier effect.
