Newsweek Rates High Schools

The annual Newsweek lists of best high schools is out again -- based in large part on AP participation and performance rates.  I don't see much from Chicago schools on the list, but haven't read all of them.

The Best High Schools includes #57. Stevenson, Lincolnshire, Ill. 2.065

The Public Elites include Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, Aurora, Ill.: A state-run residential program for 10th through 12th graders that has a strong mentorship program.  University Laboratory, Urbana, Ill.: Competitive admission for this day school on the University of Illinois campus.

The list is considered controversial and has been challenged for its focus on AP and exclusion of other factors.
