Pro-LSC Transcribers Needed - Saturday Event From TSJ: This Saturday, April 12, from 11:15-1:00 at Kennicott Park, 4434 S. LAKE PARK, will be the first city-wide hearings on strengthening Local School Councils. This is a very important hearing, as there may be attempts to gut the LSCs altogether, and we want to be proactive on this one. We need experienced, competent transcribers to help transcribe the oral testimony as it's given. If there are any people out there who can help do this, for even 30 minutes (we will rotate), who have experience doing this type of things on the fly, please contact us asap (you can respond to this email). Pro-LSC Transcribers Needed - Saturday Event
Anyone know how a parent is supposed to figure out who to vote for in a school's LSC election. The flyers don't do it and there's no news coverage about these people. Any advice?

Pro-LSC Transcribers Needed - Saturday Event
I'm currently serving on an LSC and I capaigned 100 feet from the school doors. I met people and listened to whatever they wanted to tell me. After 3 years on the LSC when I am up at the school I periodically introduce myself and ask "How is it going?" I listen and explain if I can or agree with whatever they say and take it to the principal at the meeting. There should have been a candidate's forum at the school. During that time, perspective candidates have two minutes to explain their philosophy and introduce themselves. You should have received notice from the school about the meeting so you could be present to hear from the candidates. I hope this helps.
