"Stand Up, Englewood," Says Former Simeon Sports Star
According to Will Okun, former Simeon basketball star Derrick Rose gave a shout out to his old neighborhood last week during a nationally televised interview:
"Stand up, Englewood," he said -- apparently in reference to the shooting death of a high school friend earlier in the week. [It may have been Chavez Clark.]

The phrase "Stand Up, Englewood" has nothing to do with the shooting. It's slang. It's sort of like him being proud of where he is from.
