WANTED: More Turnaround Organizations

Catalyst magazine (which sponsors this blog) has a new article up about the difficult search for folks willing to take on the challenge of turning around low-performing schools (Anyone want a turnaround?).

The teacher preparation outfit (and Obama fave) AUSL has taken on several schools, and the district has its own in-house turnaround shop run by a Broad alum named Alan Anderson that is running a few.  But a proposed effort called ChicagoRISE hasn't yet taken off nearly as quickly as hoped, despite support from NSVF and others.
