Wed Mar 19, 2008 at 9:56 AMBy: You missed CPS bribe story Wednesday Morning News Alexander you are slipping. In today's Sun Times there is a story by Natasha Korecki and Chris Fusco about Stuart Levine's testtimony at the Rezko trial. In that story Levine is reported to have stated on the witnesss stand that he paid bribes to former Alderman Vrdolyak to get a dental firm a contract with the CPS, and that he paid bribes to unnamed CPS officals to get school-bus contracts which he represented.

While both of these stories are about long ago bribes, in the 1980s and possibly early 1990s, one does have to wonder if similar things are still going on.

Wed Mar 19, 2008 at 11:22 AMBy: I'm a PAT Wednesday Morning News Isn't it little too early to start notifying teachers whether they are terminated or non-renewed?

I am currently at a school that will let go of teachers due to lower enrollment, with myself a prime candidate for non-renewal. Fortunately, I have been working the suburban job fairs so I expect to find a job out there soon.
Wed Mar 19, 2008 at 11:24 AMBy: Sick to my stomach Wednesday Morning News It is sickening and disheartening to see such examples of heavy-handedness in the CPS system where there are no legitimate check and balance sytem to make sure that the children's education is number 1. Such corruption down to the BOE allegedly being paid off to the use of CPS lawyers to bully off parents and teachers of children with specialized services! How low can you go, Mr. Mayor and Arne Duncan? How low can you go!
