City schools to get $50 million ChiTown Daily News
Javier Arriola-Lopez, the school's principal, was Carson's literacy lead teacher when the initiative began in 2002. Now, his faculty is being looked at to mentor other city schools. In the last six years, Carson's literacy rate has risen 25 percent, to 73 percent.
