Progress Reports, School Improvement Planning, and Learning First [img=/assets/blog/200712/2007_12_5.icybean.jpg F:L]As you probably already know, today is progress report distribution day for elementary and high school students (good luck to all). How did it go? Any better or worse than report card pickup day? Tomorrow is a professional development day for teachers (no school for kids). Now, if I could only find out what the schedule is for those formative math and reading assessments that are given three times a year (Learning First and ... the other one). The next one has to be coming up soon, right? Photo: Chicagoist

Thu Dec 6, 2007 at 1:25 PMBy: About Progress Reports, School Improvement Planning, and Learning First welcome back, yellowdart -- and thanks for the link. that's a great summary of testing that goes on.

it looks like the testing window for LF and math is Dec 10 -19 (meaning monday to nearly the last day of school).

they're still claiming this is not comparative or evaluative among teachers or schools or areas.

now if only they would tell parents how their children's scores relate to being proficient or not -- rather than just telling them how they compare to other CPS students. i hear parents complaining about this
