Tribune Editorial Writer To Start New UPK Effort
Cornelia Grumman, who's written scads of education-focused editorials during her seven-year stint at the Tribune, will head a "new national non-profit focused on increasing public investment in early childhood education," called (for the moment at least) the First Five Years Fund. It's being funded by Gates, Buffett, Pritzker, Harris and Kaiser. Yes, the UPK mafia. Congrats, condolences. No word yet on who will replace her on the editorial page.
